  • Hi Chriss - hang on in there, I've just had the last of my 4 AC's on 5th Jan, and the fatigue and dizzy effects and aches (latter of which I think are more to do my lymphatic system having a slight meltdown) have taken longer to get over each run (weirdly though the nausea and loss of taste seemed to ease up more quickly - or hey, maybe you just get used to those after a while).  I certainly had more naps with this last dose, and 2 weeks later have still felt tired mid day .. but am taking walks or doing the pilates video to try to kick myself out of the snooze pattern. I have my first run of the 12 weeks of the taxol next week - so am really hoping the AC was the worst of it (seems to be the common feedback that it is the nastier of the drugs - so here's hoping).... just keep counting down, if its only one more to go then you're already 75% done with AC ..  and only one more to go, you'll get there and have a big grin on your face as you walk out of that last AC session - I sure did!  Keep strong and rest up - sending positive thoughts to you.

  • Thanks Trace, yes all good with temp and have been drinking so much I'm constantly at the loo.  But will ring Onco tomorrow in case white cells are down, funny even though I have the injection my white cells only went up to 1.8 last time.

  • Thanks Lisa, yes one for AC then BIG decision to go ahead with 12 x Taxol.

  • Hi Chriss,

sorry you are feeling so awful.  Have you checked your temp? Sorry, silly question I know, here's another one, are you drinking enough? My 3rd round of FEC landed me in hospital with low bp & dehydration.. Lethargy & dizziness sounds similar. Can you ring your Onc tomorrow morning, maybe they can see you & look at what you need. If sleeping today doesn't help, don't soldier on alone, call for help. Hope you feel stronger tomorrow, Trace??

  • Hi Chriss

I remember feeling like this on AC. It is a powerful drug and it tends to build up re side effects. You are nearly through it though? I would assume you have one more. The only thing you can really do is rest when you need to and if it is really severe contact your onc just to make sure that this is not out of the ordinary.

    take care
