Hi Leila,
im pleased that you didn't leave it too long before going to ED. I waited 4 days after my first chemo as I thought that was just how it was meant to be. On top of the vomiting and not being able to keep even water down, I had the runs as well. I spent the whole 4 days on the toilet with a bucket in my lap. It was awful. I was hospitalised for 5 days and told in future to not let it go anymore that 24 hours if I couldn't keep anything down. The onc's made adjustments for every chemo I had to try to relieve the side effects including changing me from carboplatin to cyclophosphomide half way through. Lemonade icy poles became my best friend. When I couldn't eat, along with water, they were one of the few things I could actually keep down. For me, they gave me higher doses of dexamethasone (cortisone) for longer periods, gave me ondansetron wafers and gave me more anti nausea stuff in my infusion. Hopefully with the changes they can make, you will have a better time with the following chemos. All the best. Karen xox
