Hi michaela,
i had 4 doses of docetaxel and then two of AC. Yes, it's bloody awful, but I found that if I felt a bit nauseas to eat something. Doesn't have to be much and the best thing for me was homemade pumpkin soup because I could actually taste it. Also try to move around a little. I never stayed in bed. Always showered and got dressed. The first dose was the worst as the mixture wasn't right and it gave me stomach cramps and diahorrea. They altered the amount after that which was better. You need to tell your oncologist of any side effects. Drink water as much as you can, even if it means sipping, but little and often. Unfortunately for me, and it's a rare side affect (happens to only 1% of people) the docetaxel affected my lungs. I am on steroids to help with that and am hoping to get weaned off them soon.
as they say, take one day at a time. Don't look too far ahead. You will get through it. I was lucky in that a good friend of mine had had exactly the same treatment and could give me tips on what to do. I thought to myself that so many people have had this treatment and come out the other side, then I must be able to do it too.
best of luck. Let us know how you get on.
