Have my next Onc visit tomorrow week, so nervous, I know my tm's were up last test & I am terrified to find out the next reading.. PLUS, I have to go alone..Talk about sleepless nights & teary meltdowns!!.... Wish I knew what I did in a previous life to deserve the hand I have been dealt in this one........

Sending hugs, @Cate64. You know you are never really alone with all of us here to listen anytime.It really is a roller coaster for you. One minute on top of things and medals for your running! You are so impressive :) and then the worry again. Do you have a counselor or someone professional to talk with? I can only imagine how difficult this all is and surely some support of this sort should be accessible for you. Just picture all of your online support crew coming along with you next week. Hope there is room in the waiting room. xxx

Thanks @Deanne I have tried their counselor but everytime I spoke with him & would wind up second guessing & questioning myself. I found I was better off with my rock of a husband who, at the time, could accompany to all appointments but he is now in a new job & not in a position to though, having said that, I think if he knew how anxious I get going alone he would 'be sick' that day. Thank goodness for you girls & head slaps & big girl panties that I will now bring out :)

@Cate64 agree with @Deanne. Is the waiting room big enough? because we will all be there for you.

@Cate64 Sometimes we do need to put on the big girl panties ...... but that doesn't stop us from feeling anxious... sending you hugs and energy to cope with the lead up to your appointment... I know you are strong you are here and that is testament to your strength. remember to tell the Onc to wait a bit there are quite a few of us to come in with you .... hugs and love <3

Hi Kate , I know what it is like to be so anxious. Sometimes when I see my oncologist and I'm feeling anxious thinking that it will be bad news, the reverse happens and its good news. Now after having mets for five years I am usually glad to find out results of scans and test even if the news is not always good. There is always treatment available . It just another challenge we all have to face and we seem to find the strength in the end. Have you got a friend that can go with you. My husband usually comes with me as he is now retired., but when he was working I would ask a friend or a family member. I read this once , :) Always Remember

@melclarity no, it is next Friday.... lucky me, i gave another week of dread & anxiety to look forward to...

Can I just say that I am so proud to be part of this forum. Where else would you find so many selfless, genuine women caring for someone who needs a bit of support. You are all amazing. Hi Cate. I know exactly how you feel. I live near the northern hospital and I am more than happy to meet you and even just sit in the waiting room with you. This disease is crap. I have just been through scans etc re my liver. Happy to note that I have a couple of cysts and not much else. I think half of this is in my head. My back is killing me. Had a clear bone scan in August. Bloody hell. Taking pain killers and not much sleep. I have a wonderful G.P. but she suggested I get some counselling. I don't want it. I am not imagining the pain. Just sick of it. Please let me know Cate if you want me to come along. Maybe we should have a Melbourne get together soon. I would like that.

all good @Afraser I currently have my big girl panties on & am ok with the thought of going alone however, who knows how i will feel in 1/2 an hour :)
