Hi Canisha. I can certainly relate to what you are going through. I was initially diagnosed with Stage 3 Breast Cancer back in 2015, which then metastasised to my Liver in September 2017 and last month discovered it had progressed to my Brain. I too have had Brain Radiotherapy, which went quite well and start on another Chemo next week. I have a daughter who is 16 and I too worry about her and my husband, but found that getting organised and prepared for the future (without me), helped a lot. I’ve updated my Will, had an Enduring Power of Attorney prepared, made a list of important information and contacts, made a list of my favourite recipes and done a bunch of other stuff that will help make life go a little easier for my family and friends. It gave me a sense of satisfaction that I was able to get all this sorted, although some people may find this a little too confronting. It doesn’t mean you’ve given up, it just puts things into place for the future.
I’m also a big believer in getting professional counselling through a qualified Psychologist who specialises in this field. Both my husband and daughter see Psychologists and I will too.
please don’t hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or just want a chat. I will be thinking of you. Lynne 🌹
