Update on me

Well I finished Rads Monday last week and today I commenced Tamoxifen.  So glad I'm not having to head to the hospital every day now.  But now I also need to remember to take my meds every day.  The last week has been hectic though as my little boy (Mr almost 10 months) was diagnosed with broncholitis and then my daughter (Miss 6 yrs) started throwing up, at night time only thou, and the doctor tells me that it is just a viral infection. So instead of relaxing and enjoying a week of tranquility I've been flat out with sick kids.

During my treatment I have been seeing an exercise physiologist, I had 2 sessions paid for by medicare, and tonight went to my first group exercise physiology session.  Due to the inclement weather that we have been having in Melbourne I was the only client that attended tonight so I managed to score a PT session for just $20.  Feeling fantastic at the moment but wondering how sore I will be in the morning.

Thanks goes to my mum that drove over to look after my sick babies so that I could attend the session.  I truly do not know where I would be if it wasn't for my mum she has been a tower of strength for me during all of this, plus she is taking my babies for a couple of days next week so that I can relax and concentrate on me.

  • That's the thing isn't it. Everyone keeps telling us to rest, eat healthy, put yourself first, enjoy life when you feel well and so forth but life does go on as usual for everyone else. You poor thing. Thank god for your mum. Maybe part of this healing process is about focusing on others. I hope you really enjoy some time for yourself next week. I'm just starting my journey & hope I'm as brave as you & hope your babies get well soon too. Nicole x
