Taxol 12, Herceptin 4

Taxol 12 today, done, finished chemo! woo hoo :) Got my farewell pack and freddo frog from the lovely Marissa. Should get my Vitamin D results back soon. Next! Radiation appointment on Wednesday at Sunshine Hospital. Side effects- SORE fingers, hands and toes. I feel puffy, rashy, bloated and sore. Have to have another heart scan on 8/7/13 before next Herceptin. Cheryle :) PS I can see hair growing without having to squint in the mirror;)

  • Great to know your hair is coming back!! I've just started Herceptin and Taxol with no major side effects... Yet. Have been told my hair will start to grow back and am so excited! Something to look forward to. Loving feeling ok after chemo instead of crap. Hope radio goods 'well'. Creams I hear are the trick.... Let us know what you find best to use. Cheers, Erica
  • Thanks Mich, my hair such as it is, is spiky, short and soft. White on top very fine and darkening to a blondy brown from my ears down. It was such a fantastic feeling yesterday to finish that final Taxol. But I had a severe case of chemo brain, forgot to get my med cert. had to go back for that then forgot to ring work for sick leave. File note when I go back on Sat. night for no show. What can they do, no sick leave so I'm on leave without pay anyway. Cheryle :)
  • Yippeeeeee big congrats on making it through all your chemo, well done.  You will still feel crappy for a few weeks and then slowly slowly feel nearer to normal every day.  You will still have to care for yourself well through radiotherapy as that will make you tired (fatigue is a hard one to deal with) but don't fight it.  Use your creams liberally, give the radiotherapied area some fresh air at home every day which I found helped.  Try not to let any clothing rub on that area as that can cause a problem.  Do as you are told like a good girl and you will be fine.I bet you are so glad that bloody chemo is over, it is such a wonderful wonderful feeling.Enjoy your break and get that hair growing through kiddo.  It is nice to finally see it grow back and it is quite interesting to watch how it grows.  Wonder if yours will be curly, mine was but hairdresser has managed to cut them all out so now it is just mish mash for a while but I am sure I will get it in to a good style soon.Revel (spelling)in the moment.Lots of love, Mich xoxoxo
