Tamoxifen - side effects - vision

Hello everyone,

I have now started my longer term hormone therapy and been given Tamoxifen. I have noticed over last couple of months that my vision is not as sharp. I already have some low vision constraints but I think it has got a little worse. I am not sure if this is because of the medication? As I will need to take this for the next 5-10 years and in my 40s, I am a little concerned if my vision will continue to go down hill.

Does anyone have any experience with
Tamoxifen? I would be very grateful if you could share your thoughts.

Thank you,

  • Thank you @Hendrix and @ddon - the joys of treatment indeed. It’s a bit scary and not sure if there are any alternatives.

    Thank you for sharing.

  • Yes I’m on Letrozole and found vision is not 100%...the joys of treatment! xx
  • My vision has deteriorated this year and I feel like the chemo is to blame mostly. I have been on tamoxifen between 3 and 4 months but I feel like my vision was already going downhill when I started it. I was already very short sighted - have been since a child but this year has been a downward slide and I am off to get new glasses.
