Tamoxifen - side effects - vision

Haven’t been online for a while but this post took my attention having just had to get a 2nd round of new glasses since I moved on this part of my treatment, optometrist has recommended the use of eye drops as my eyes are showing effects of being too dry. And she didn’t know I was on tamoxifen it’s all a bit of bah humbug something else to add to the collection. 

2 weeks now on Tamoxifen. I am not sleeping well so maybe thats why, but I am feeling more eye strain than before

yes it is connected unfortunately.  i already had dry eye from laser surgery and when I told the eye surgeon I was going on Tamoxifen she sighed as dry eye is a side effect.  If your eyes are dry it most definitely effects your vision.  Get yourself HYLO-FORTE eye drops from the chemist, a little pricey but they help xx and get checked by a professional too, good luck xx

When I first started latrezole this January I found my vision detoriated. 

I'm not on tamoxifen. My vision  changed in my year following chemo. I gave it a little time then had my testing and new glasses. Chemo effects all cells and it's not surprising it would impact our eyes also.

Yes I’ve noticed mine is worse.Could be my age also?Have been meaning to see the optometrist. Told someone I was taking Tamoxifen and she said it destroyed her Mums vision.Great , just what I needed to hear lol. I’m just going to see my optometrist more regularly. Take Care x

Thank  you for sharing.   I was wondering if it was just my imagination or my vision is going down hill while I am having chemotherapy.   I will make an apt to check out my eyes as well.   xxx

I am on Letrozole and asked my eye specialist about effects on my vision. I remember him saying Tamoxifen has known vision impacts. Maybe it’s timely to speak to your eye specialist.
