Numb toes

I have had chemo (AC) and radiation and have been on Tamoxifen for almost a year but in that time I have found that my toes and the balls of my feet are not quite numb but have a changed sensation like I am feeling through a sock when I am in bare feet.   My GP thought it was related to the chemo but the chemo specialist said not with the chemo I had. Has anyone else had this sensation?

  • Thanks for that Adean. I am on tamoxifen and cramping has been an issue for me as well.  I have tried taking magmin but it didn't really help.  I guess this is something we have to live with for the moment but my chemo specialist agreed that was related to taking Tamoxifen so no real answer as to how to stop them sorry.  from Diana

  • Thank you Chris, I do have arthritis in my feet so this could be the case.  I only noticed it after chemo but you describe what i feel quite accurately so you might be right.  Well I am not happy that it is getting worse for you...does this mean the numbness is spreading or is it just getting more noticable in the same area? from Diana

  • I had lumpectomy and radiation no chemo , on tamoxifen , have sore toes and really bad cramping in the toes . Who knows if it is connected to something? Adean
  • I too have a numbness to the balls of my feet and the middle toes on both feet. For me this isn't related to the chemo, as it was happening before cancer. My podiatrist told me that the metatarsal joints on my feet had started to collapse due to high heel wearing in my youth. It is a weird sensation, and I notice it more when in bed, when it seems like I have a ball of cotton wool wedged under my toes. They aren't completely numb, but the sensation is definitely altered, and it s getting worse. It is hard for me to know if the chemo has added to it, or if it is just degeneration. Love Chris
