Hi all - I have been on letrozole for about 10 weeks now, following a lumpectomy and radiation for hormone positive ILC. Over the last couple of weeks I have developed a terribly itchy red rash over my legs and arms. My GP is investigating the cause, but I wondered if anyone else had experienced this as a possible side-effect of letrozole? I have seen other posts about rashes being a side effect of other AIs but not so much letrozole? thanks!
Sorry to hear of the allergic reaction from Letrozole JMC (Letrozole is a generic form of the original medication and is made by many manufacturers under different names.)

Letrozole is available under its original brand name Femara as well as many generic manufacturer labels and brands, but may cost more.

Sometimes it can actually be the COATING on the tablet that may cause a problem.
The actual medical ingredients are the same as the 'original' brands (Femara, made by Novartis, is the original medicine with Letrozole as the active ingredient)... but the coating (designed to break down after a specific time in the stomach) 'may' be made of different ingredients to the 'parent' medicine.

I had the same reaction to Letrozole. I got changed to Anastrozole and found the rash slowly disappeared over time.
Thanks so much - it is awful and the itch is driving me mad! I do have some new cortisone cream today though which is helping. Thanks again for jumping in to sympathise!
