How to Change tablet time?

Has anyone changed the time they take their medication
I’ve been taking tamoxifen at night. I am wondering if taking it in the middle of the Day might be better for the side effects.
Question is do I just skip one night and start taking it in the morning. Then move it to middle of the day. Or just switch straight to the middle of the day.
I am Also on slow release pain meds morning and night. Plus hay fever tablet in morning and reflux medication at night
Thanks in advance

  • I agee, taking it first thing seems best. I'm so busy at work etc that any hot flushes are almost indistinguishable from general stress!
  • Thanks @Tinks taking it in the morning seems to do the trick more hot flushes through the afternoon and evening sleep has been better less wake ups. Even the reflux is not as bad.
Only awake now due to a midnight  phone call  and thats an entirely different issue not BC related at all.
  • Have you had any luck with your changes? Hope so. Xx
  • Absolutely agree.  Tweak, manipulate and adjust to suit yourself.  You have to go this bit alone as you get minimal help when you're months down the track.  One day missed is not going to do anything negative.
  • Just change the time. You are not going to OD by taking two pills in 24 hours (can you OD on it anyway?) Nor are you likely to compromise the effect if you don't take it for a day. Many people take regular 'holidays' of several weeks when it all gets too much. Don't be afraid to tinker around with this stuff; you are in for the long haul and need to make things as comfortably uncomfortable as possible.
  • Worth doing everything to get a long term Med like Tamoxifen to behave as much as possible!!
  • Thanks @Tinks I think tomorrow night I’ll skip it and go straight to lunchtime on Wednesday.
Tonight is leg and toe cramps galore back ache not settling so got  to do it to find out.
  • I think you should be pretty right just swapping right across. When we take meds regularly our background body drug level is in a steady state and the everyday dose is just a top up. Small variations of Tamoxifen in one day when changing the time you take it , should not be a bother for keeping an active background level of drug in the body, but you may see a reduction in side effects experienced at night by taking it earlier in the day. You could call your prescriber for quick advice, should not need a consultation?
  • thanks @iserbrown that was my thought for switching to lunchtime
not taking anything else at lunch time since stoping the anti inflammatory junk that made me feel sick no matter how much i ate.
  • When on tamoxifen I settled into taking it at lunchtime.  It suited me fine.

Try it as we have to consider that it doesn't negate our other meds. My other meds are before breakfast.

    Best wishes
