Early stage breast cancer #4 (recurrence #3)

My friend had a mastectomy at the same time I had a lumpectomy in 2003.She had no rads or chemo,just Tamoxifen for 5yrs. She is fine 16yrs later.I wish I’d done the same- am sorry I did radiation as I have lung scarring and skin is buggered up for implants.I don’t think they’ll be able to eradicate breast cancer as it is many diseases.Just like heart conditions often run in the family,cancer possibly does too.There are many medical conditions that can’t be prevented,just treated and I think ( for the moment)bc is one of them.I recently had a very small basal cell carcinoma removed from my forehead and you should see the sizable chunk he took and the scar.It wasn’t even a melanoma but doctor said a large cut was needed so it wouldn’t grow back.It made me think about the small margin taken around my 2cm Breast cancer lump. Maybe a larger margin or even mastectomy for certain size lumps are the way to go?
