Hi MvB,
I’m similar to you but not quite such a mystery girl.I had my first early bc in 2003 at age 47.I had a lumpectomy, full node clearance(all clear) and radiation. I didn’t follow through with Tamoxifen as I should have. Anyway,I got a recurrence 7 years later(2010) in the same spot.I then had a mastectomy and some chemo and 4 yrs of Tamoxifen.I’ve been ok since but watch my scarline carefully and haven’t had the guts to have recon. I’ve now met so many women who’ve had a recurrence after lumpectomy and radiation that I now question the 8% of recurrence stat I was given.I believe that some of us have a genetic disposition towards getting various cancers.I come from a line of cancer sufferers but not bc. I like to think that my boob did a great job of containing the cancer twice and not letting it spread( as far as I know). But it’s always going to be a worry for us isn’t it. I run a support group in the Hills area and we meet at a CWA cottage in Kenthurst. You’d be most welcome.
