Chemo is all done!
Yesterday I had my last dose of chemo! I have been feeling so excited knowing it's over, now to just get through the last lot of side effects from this infusion. the side effects are pretty full on for a few days between days 3-6 but i'm prepared for that anyway, I just work with the side effects & take each day as it comes.
I did dose dense of AC x 4, then dose dense of Paclitaxel x 4. I handled both really well, ended up not needing the injection o boost my blood levels, I just altered my diet to be rich in the foods i needed. I have constant neuropathy though which is annoying as well as sleeplessness & lethargy.
I had my radiation planning appointment on Tuesday, got all measured & marked up ready to start on 7th November, until 11th December - then 4 weeks later I start on Letrazole - i need to have a DEXA scan & blood tests to check my hormone levels, making sure my ovaries are no longer active. i wen through natural menopause 10 years ago & was on HRT for around 9 years, coming off when I got my bc diagnosis.
I am so looking forward to my hair growing back! I really do miss having my long hair.
Reading the info my oncologist gave me about the Lertazole, it says it can thin hair... i hope not too badly, i'm sick of being bald.

I read in the info sheets my Oncologist gave me that Letrazole can cause hair thinning, I'm hoping not too much!
I currently have the tiniest of prickles on my head, I can feel them although you can't really see anything as yet.
Hopefully it will grow faster soon! - Congratulations on finishing chemo. It's great to have that behind you. My hair grew in chalk white and frizzy - like a lambswool pad on my head. It gradually darkened and very gradually straightened. About a year after it had all grown back, I noticed an unusual amount of hair on my brush and comb. Bit of panic. After a lot of specialist advice it appears my shedding pattern had changed. No bald spots, no alopecia just more loose hairs than normal. I had never noticed loose hairs before and my hair was very thick. It still is, the amount of hair I shed is still within a normal level but it's possible that letrozole may have contributed to (not caused) a change. So if it happens, don't be too alarmed! 3 years on and all fine. Best wishes.

- Congratulations! I was a hairdresser for 20 years, so I totally understand how you feel. I went through the hair loss with chemo too.....it grows back ! Well done !

Wishing you all the best. Xx Cath - @stedden. Yes, I start radiation next week for 5 weeks, then 4 weeks after I finish radiation I start on tablets for 5 years.
I had a hysterectomy in 2004 & am now 10 years post menopause as well, so fertility isn't something I've had to even think about.
I'm not sure about groups for that, but I'm sure one of the other ladies may be able to help with that? I'm sorry I can't offer any advice to you there.

I got stuck in a worrying situation. I am 38 and I have a 6 years old daughter. I wanted another baby and I wanted to plan for that this year but 2 months ago my canser appeared,...shit... I am going to start my chemo next week. I saw fertility specialist and she suggested some ways to keep my fertility but my husband got angry when heard that. He says 1 is enough in this situation. But I think I might have another chance if I do something about that. I can have baby two years or three years later, after my treatment by freezing eggs,why not?!!

i must admit I was pretty excited on Thursday when my infusion finished. The past few days have bee difficult with bone pain, neuropathy & lethargy, it at least I know it's the last.
