CDK46 and aromatose inhibitors

Hi there
I've just finished my second round of treatment, including a bilateral mastectomy and lymph node clearance for oestrogen progesterone positive BC. My first diagnosis of same BC was 9 years ago at 38yrs old.

Seeking information from anyone out there please that has lived experience being on a CDK46 and Legestrol or other aromatise inhibitors.

My onc is recommending but side effects of CDK46 look very scary 😨

Much appreciated in advance.

Kind regards
Kylie

  • We are lucky to now have dual therapies available at min cost on PBS
I was on kisquali and fulvestrant for two + years with some hair thinning and  injection site pain from fulvestrant have been only issues
Low neutrophils is usual but is carefully monitored
Not everyone has problem side effects..everyone is different
    All the best

  • Dear @eddiek
I religiously read all brochures that come with prescription drugs ( mine and those prescribed for my 89 year old mother who has many health conditions).
The list is often scary but the fact that something is listed doesn’t mean you will get it - the drug companies are just covering their bases .
My “favourite “ is always constipation , but on the next line , diahreah ( can’t they make up their mind?) .
You should be closely monitored on a CDK 4/6 drug including regular blood tests.
According to  the clinical trials the main side  effects likely for this class of drug was low neutrophils, elevated liver enzymes and fatigue , although rash and tummy upsets also feature .
Do you have a breast care nurse , they can often be a good source of info on these things.
    Take care 🌺

  • I'm sorry I don't know CDK46.
Can I ask? Is this new cancer considered a new primary or Metasteses?
I'm so sorry that this has happened.
I hope that someone has answers for you.
    Wishing you all the best.
