  • Well, they got it right about the effects on the brain!!!!!!  Rochester University did an article about the effects these things have on your cognitive function and central nervous system.  They were trialling a drug to counter act it but it was only a rat trial the last I read about it.  So another drug to counteract a drug  Yippeee!!!  Shame we're not rats huh?
  • You're right about the huge steps but IMO the focus on survival outcomes is not matched by a focus on providing treatment options that minimise troubling side effects!
  • One day!!  I am sure it will all be much clearer, huge steps have ben taken just in the last decade but in the meantime.......you pays your money, and you takes your choice!
  • It's frustrating isn't it @Afraser !

The only thing we have to rely on are stats, at the end of the day, and only a crystal ball can tell if you'll be on the wrong end of them.

In an ideal world there would be tests available to see who will benefit the most from AIs, by how much, and what length of treatment is optimal for each individual.
  • If only we knew the absolute risk of recurrence! Even then, it's hard. I was recently advised, re a non cancer medical procedure, the likelihood of any problem was a 1000 to 1 chance. I experienced a potentially serious problem! In addition to clarity of the stats, you need to know what side of the stats line you are on to estimate risk accurately.
