If only we knew the absolute risk of recurrence! Even then, it's hard. I was recently advised, re a non cancer medical procedure, the likelihood of any problem was a 1000 to 1 chance. I experienced a potentially serious problem! In addition to clarity of the stats, you need to know what side of the stats line you are on to estimate risk accurately.
