A side effect Chart for most of the Hormone/AI tablets ... on one page
I found this chart a while back, when researching Hormone Therapy/AI side effects - and thought this a good one with most of the oestrogen blocking meds on the one page, in groups, & showing 'most' of the side effects in an easy to read format.
Please note - I wrote the 4 'boxes' of info along the top - with the alternative tablet names and explanations of the different groups of tablets.
If you have MORE symptoms than listed here, feel free to add to the list in the comments below! (I can even add more dots if you like!)
For Aromasin/Exemestane - I can add:
Dry Eyes
Extreme Hand and thumb pain
Hand and thumb weakness - inability to hold/open things - I can't even tear open an envelope!
Weight gain
Occasional Back Pain (that I will be keeping an eye on!)

- @Arpie could you please add higher cholesterol also for Aromasin please. I was on Tamoxifen for 4yrs and once I finished chemo after my recurrence my eyes were absolutely shot! my eyesight has deteriorated terribly since these drugs :(
- I am having hair loss/thinning and my eyebrows are no existent they were the first to go,oncologist tells me its the letrozole. I'm on kisqali and letrozole combo. Also very dry hand skin which peels off like sunburn,I use moogoo for that
- Yes I’d add eye issues for Letrozole.I’ve had vitreal detachment causing like spiders webs in my vision - no serious vision consequence just nuisance value. However my intraocular pressure has escalated now in both eyes with a diagnosis of Glaucoma. Initial treatment was eye drops which no longer help so have had both laser and conventional surgery which is working well - called a trabeculectomy essentially a canal has been cut under my lid which remains open so risk of infection is an ongoing concern and limitations on my lifestyle have been necessary - no swimming in salt/fresh water , no eye makeup and no dyeing my hair myself anymore.
- Vision problems should be added to Tamoxifen. My eyesight is shot and is getting worse and I now have floaters in one eye. Comment from optometrist "quite common on this med". Also bone, joint,back pain, dizziness and hypercalcemia (when taken with calcium supplements commonly prescribed by numerous GP's who don't know any better and think its works the same as an AI). Duh.
Actually, bugger it @arpie. Just tick em all for me pls......grumble grumble

The 'x' have been added at the request of BCNA members - Thank you for the table above. I have been on medication since end 2015 (tamoxifen, arimidex and now aromasin), I get dreadful bone pain in lower back and hips/thighs which then makes fatigue worse when managing it. Nice to read your posts x
- I agree with you @sister - altho my surgery was on my right boob - the major pain from AI side effects is also on my left side!
- @Sister I have the same thing happening, naughty right side and all my achy issues are on the left. Strange huh?
- Forgive me if this has been mentioned before... I've noticed something rather strange and while I'm sure it's purely coincidence, I'm intrigued. The Letrozole has caused pain in many of my joints and I think, soft tissue, but the level is not symmetrical. My mastectomy was on the right side - the level of pain on my left side is significantly more than it is on my right. Just a coincidence? or a brain thing? am I favouring my right side? am I just left-side compromised naturally?
