A side effect Chart for most of the Hormone/AI tablets ... on one page
I found this chart a while back, when researching Hormone Therapy/AI side effects - and thought this a good one with most of the oestrogen blocking meds on the one page, in groups, & showing 'most' of the side effects in an easy to read format.
Please note - I wrote the 4 'boxes' of info along the top - with the alternative tablet names and explanations of the different groups of tablets.
If you have MORE symptoms than listed here, feel free to add to the list in the comments below! (I can even add more dots if you like!)
For Aromasin/Exemestane - I can add:
Dry Eyes
Extreme Hand and thumb pain
Hand and thumb weakness - inability to hold/open things - I can't even tear open an envelope!
Weight gain
Occasional Back Pain (that I will be keeping an eye on!)

- Stress test done and dusted (treadmill). Doc didn't think I could finish the 3rd stage but I did!

Ultrasound a vast improvement on the one I had a few weeks ago while I was on the hormone blockers. Oncologist won't be happy but you can't win every doctors wishes. - Others have had similar eye issues, @romla - so not a coincidence, methinks
- I’d like to add vision problems to Femara as well .Within 3 months of starting I had elevated eye pressure and ultimately a lot of eye surgeries.I did have glaucoma at the outset but was controlled by eye drops.Maybe coincidence maybe not.
- All I can say is: be glad you are alive. Be thankful for little things.
- Apparently the Aust. Medical Journal says anything from 1% up is common, or so my GP tells me.
- Not sure that I'd call affecting between 1 in 100 and 1 in 1000 uncommon!
- Doing some googling (whoever would have thought that would be a word) and found this list for Letrozole on Netdoctor:
Very common (affect more than 1 in 10 people)
- Raised cholesterol levels.
- Hot flushes.
- Increased sweating.
- Feeling weak, tired or generally unwell.
- Pain in the joints.
Common (affect between 1 in 10 and 1 in 100 people)
- Increased or decreased appetite.
- Depression.
- Headache.
- Dizziness.
- High blood pressure.
- Disturbances of the gut such as diarrhoea, constipation, indigestion, nausea, vomiting or abdominal pain.
- Hair loss.
- Rash or dry skin.
- Pain in the muscles.
- Swelling of the legs and ankles due to excess fluid retention (peripheral oedema).
- Weight gain.
- Vaginal bleeding.
- Weakening and fractures of bones, osteoporosis, bone pain - see important information section above.
Uncommon (affect between 1 in 100 and 1 in 1000 people)
- Increased need to pass urine and urinary tract infections.
- Decrease in the number of white blood cells in the blood (leukopenia).
- Breast or tumour pain.
- Anxiety, nervousness or irritability.
- Sleepiness.
- Difficulty sleeping (insomnia).
- Changes in sensation, such as burning, tingling or numbness.
- Carpel tunnel syndrome.
- Changes in sensation of taste.
- Eye irritation, blurred vision.
- Cataracts.
- Inflammation of the joints (arthritis).
- Vaginal discharge or dryness.
- Dry or sore mouth.
- Feeling thirsty.
- Weight loss.
- Cough or feeling short of breath.
- Inflammation of a vein due to a blood clot (thrombophlebitis).
- Awareness of your heartbeat (palpitations), increased heart rate.
- Chest pain (angina) and heart attack.
- Stroke.
- Memory impairment.
Frequency unknown
- Inflammation of the liver (hepatitis).
- Swelling of the face, tongue and throat (angioedema).
- Severe allergic skin reactions, such as Stevens-Johnson Syndrome, toxic epidermal necrolysis or erythema multiforme.

- It may be easier to have a chart that shows what these drugs dont do. That's a joke. I think :/
- @Sister @Artferret Yep, definitely constipation. It's because of the drying effect. There's not as much water in the bowel so the fecal matter hardens and is not as easy to pass.
Shits me! #sorrynotsorry - Have to agree with you @Sister on constipation though eating grapes at the moment seem to be doing the job! But as for my knees this morning it felt like they both had watermelons attached to them!
