WOW!!!!

I don't believe that your Oncologist carried on that way. How dare he. Like you said, this is your decision and you have a right to make it without being made to feel guilty or stupid. Yes we know that our medical professionals do not like taking a healthy breast for 'medical' reasons but they forget that some of us have psychological reasons which are just as important for our long term health and we need to have peace of mind. It IS your decision Cobie and nobody else has the right to 'go nuts' at you. I had to make this difficult decision myself and have now had my 'healthy' breast removed too. My surgeon did point out that my decision should not be made lightly and he asked me to see the Hospital Psychologist and have a second opinion with one of his colleagues before I made the final choice and before he'd go ahead. He was very considerate and wanted me to have all the facts first and never make me feel bad about making my decision. He did not go nuts at me. I feel I have made the right choice for me and that is the crux of the matter. THE CHOICE IS YOURS TO MAKE. I hope that your Onc considers your reasons and supports you in whatever decision you make. You are number one here!
Good Luck and lots of love
