Where I am at now!

Chemo what I can say about chemo, well I can't complain about it, yeah it's not fun and I don't feel great in the first week, but as long as it does its job thats the main thing. I'm nearly at my half way mark now and am getting excited to reach it :)

I'm planning my wedding and trying to keep busy. Two of my bridesmaid are on my back about the wedding making sure I'm actually planning it. If it wasn't for them I wouldn't be. Also I'm excited to find travel insurance that actually covers you for breast cancer, so happy about that. That means I get to plan my European honeymoon again and best part about it is if my arm swells up while I'm over there I'm covered.

I have also made a booking with a plastic surgeon so I'm pretty excited about that. I'm looking forward to discussing my options. I wish I could start straight after radiation but I know I have to wait to heal.

    Hi Leonie,

    Thanks for your message, yes wedding planning is a great distraction. I'm getting married in the vineyards in March 2012, so just over 13 months away (I have a feeling it will be all planned very shortly). I have found losing my hair to be a really tough thing and I too cut mine short once before surgery and then really short before my first round. It was the best thing I did you just don't realise how much hair you actually have on your head. You will have to let me know how radiation goes I start mine in June (if all goes to plan) and am worried about burning so any tips on how to look after your skin during this time would be great. Goodluck with it all x

    I think you are so wonderful.   I intend to take on some of your ideals when I start chemo - "It's a War" and I'm going to WIN.  At this stage I won't start chemo until late April after my radiation which starts on 14th Feb (lovely St Valentine's Day gift).  Whilst I was recovering from radiation last time around I actually planned our wedding.  It was great to have a nice distraction.  When are you planning on getting married?  Don't forget to give yourself time to recover from the radiation - I actually was very fatigued at the end and become quite sick.  My specialist has advised me to treat it like a marathon - "Pace yourself and don't overdo it. " Thanks for letting us know how you are going.  Keep up the good work!XLeonie  PS  I have cut my hair short in readiness for baldness!!!!!
