Wearing a backpack post TRAM
Hi everyone, I've just had my TRAM procedure and am thinking about holidays. Does anyone here do multiday hikes with a pack? How long until you were back to hiking with a pack? I am day 4 post surg...

I had the DIEP reconstruction but certainly wasn’t fit for hiking for about 3 months.
Everyone is different but I really was bowled over by the procedure and was only able to go back to driving at 6 weeks.
I was doing gentle walking at 1 week post op but really took time to get back to physical fitness .
I saw a physiotherapist specialising in breast cancer surgery patients and she really helped me recover - I got a referral from my breast care nurse - if you have the chance that’s a worthwhile thing to do .
I started with her 5 weeks post op.
