Hi Glynnis, it's really tricky when your own family get unwell while you are going through chemo. Although you can be really vigilant with hygiene etc you unfortunately do run the risk of getting an infection. My son (8yrs at the time) developed chicken pox during my first chemo and I ended up being hospitalised for a week as my white blood count was almost non-existent. It would be good if your hubby and son can be looked after by someone else for a few days. If that's not possible, call your oncologist and let them know the situation as they might need to prescribe you some antibiotics or other medicines and might have some other suggestions for keeping well.
