  • Hi Annie, thanks for your message and support.

Wow we have a lot in commun ! where do you live? maybe we could meet for a coffee? Are you having treatment now?

It is hard to have no family around but I always remind myself that friends are the family I can choose :)

  • Hi Magalie, I've followed your blog and think it's awsome! I could relate to to your recent update especially.. Like you I come from overseas, have lived in Sydney for a quite while but have all my side of the family back in Europe. Unfortunately I see them rarely. My mom isn't doing too good either, she's going through chemo as well (not for BC, another type of cancer) and feeling not so great. I was very concerned how my mom would take me telling about my BC so I decided to tell my parents the day after the surgery... It wasn't easy for anyone but at least they know now.. Speaking of this I was wondering whether there are others in similar situation? Stranded away from your close family members, how do you and your family cope with it?  Annie
