Talk about ironic

Just thought some of you might see the funny side of this situation. I didn't at the time but can look back and smile about it now! The afternoon before I was to have my mastectomy surgery I received a phone call from a Laser Hair removal salon wanting to know if I needed to book a maintenance appointment. At that stage facing surgery and then Chemo I was more concerned with keeping hair not removing it! It slammed home how quickly my life had been turned upside down by breast cancer and did upset me at the time. But when I look in the mirror now (after 2nd Chemo) at my new hair free body I have a laugh at all the money I'm saving on hairdressing and hair removal! Sometimes you've just got to laugh at the irony in life! :) Deanne

    Yeh I get it.  My sense of humour too !  I have my hair growing back now, and my husband said to me the other night, "You know, I dont really like the wig, I prefer you to just be yourself.  Its like going out with some-one else!"  (very amusing because I made such a big issue about getting a wig)  Then today, I was just sitting outside gett 5 mins of sun, pulled up my tracksuit pants to reveal my shins and thought, damn it, the hair has grown back on my legs!

    Hi Deanne,

    What a great way of looking at it!

    I know there have been some women in the past that have talked about the cost savings including shampoo, conditioner, hours they now don't have to spend at waxing or hairdresser appointments.

    I hope the rest of your treatment goes as well as it can :-)
