I finished 6 weeks of radiation in November 2012 (and chemo prior to that) and have just endured the hottest Melbourne summer I can ever remember. I have been swimming lots of times and got a light tan on my arms and legs and suffered no ill effects at all from a little bit of sun exposure.
I was told not expose that area that had radiation to the sun so I bought a rash vest that covered up a bit more of my chest than a bikini top does. And I have been careful to use sunscreen on my chest to and the top of my breast. And as I said, no problems at all.
