Oh gosh, all your gorgeous gardens put my little one to shame. In my defense, I've only lived here 2 years and this garden was purely large trees when I moved in. I was planning on pulling out the eggplants today, but its a bit hot atm. My little lemon tree is growing sideways because the neighbours trees blocked the sun ... until he cut some branches for me :) Consider these "before" photos haha :wink:

Our resident Bower Bird has constructed a new bower beneath the Fiddlewood tree. It is a magnificent construction that has taken over three weeks and involved the collection of much useful material.He is very proud of his bower, he displays and struts around and through it.The two females he attracted through his dancing, strutting and building show no interest in the bower, they turned their backs, however yesterday a third female turned up and was very taken with it, showing much admiration in his building and decorating skills. He is definitely, according to her, Husband Material.We were able to inspect and photograph the bower today. The male Bower Bird has used pebbles, rubble and broken pieces of Hardieplank wall cladding to build pathways in and out. There is a Bush Chook (Emu) beer can (no idea where he got that from) along with screws, rivets, nails and a piece of blue carpenter's chalk (husband did wonder where that went from the new laundry building site) decorating and lining the surrounds.Take a look at the magnificent structure that has been built, just for courting and wooing his bride to be!

Lovely sunny day here! Lots of bird chatter in the garden. Picked flowers to brighten the room and Daphne for the bathrooms, oh what a perfume!

The good news is our Hoya is thriving!!

This chap has been roaming around our block for years. He has now decided that our back verandah and garden is a better home.
I still, after all these years, not got used to him grinning at me when I step out of our back door.
The Kimberley name for him is "Bungarra". He is approximately 1.5 metres from tip of nose to tip of tail.
Totally unafraid of us, can't say the reverse!

All the better for me to see the beautiful sunflower photos.
I love sunflowers, such happy sunny blooms. I am using fabric featuring these beautiful blooms in a quilt that I have been working on for a number of years, (I am easily distracted by other quilt block designs!).
Ah the life of a gardener and quilter.

Animals are a joy to observe

At present we have another elderly Kangaroo living out his last here. He's not our first and won't be last.......palliative care for Kangaroos!

@"Annie C" - you are my kind of gal. Just when I would be out there watching - and damn the medicos, have your gin an tonic, gotta have some pleasure, I say.
We find all birds and animals are time wasters like computers for the younger generation ! Watching the magpies in the big bird bath, watching kangaroos fight for their territory or watching a group of lambs play .......
