Orchids are my husband's passion. Sometimes I am envious of the care he lavishes on them. His repotting, fertilising, misting is producing flowers.
Here are a couple.
The purple throat is the highlight. The blooms are about 5cm across and will last 3 months.
I like the delicate lilac edge on this one. What is most pleasing is the second flower spike developing from the same leaf bract.
When we first started collecting orchids we murdered more than survived.
We persevered and gradually improved our skills in getting the orchids to survive. We now have over 200. We are working on getting them all to flower at the same time. I am imagining the orchid house as a mass of blooms.
