Hi my name is Nicole, I am 35 and have 3 children and have just been diagnosed with breast cancer and don't really know what I am in for!!
Hi there Nicole - what a roller coaster of emotions you must be going through at the moment. how long ago was your diagnosis and what is the prognosis?
First up .... you have now joined an exclusive club that no one willingly signs up for. As you wander through this site you will be able to avail yourself of knowledge (never forget that knowledge is power) and you will meet so many people who are there for you every step of the way on this new journey you find yourself travelling.
Have you received (or ordered) your "My Journey" kit yet. It is available free of charge through this site and contains so much in formation ... it will be invaluble to you as it answers all questions. It also contains a DVD that you and your family can watch so they have a better understanding of that it is you are experiencing.
Over the next few weeks you will be on a constant round of appointments, tests and will be going through a gammut of emotions. One hint for you, whenever you have an appointment always take someone with you. A spare pair of ears never goes astray and , trust me, you won't absorb everything on your own.
Please stay on line with us, ask questions, vent your anger, cry and scream as much as you like ... we have all been where you are now.
If you feel like it, tell us a little bit about yourself, your family, where you are and how you are dealing with all of this. When you feel up to it, let us know what your specialists have in mind for you and generally share your thoughts with us.
As I said, you are now part of a very large family, and we are all there for you and each other.
Take care of yourself ..... we will chat later
Cheers .... Shirl xx
