I am a Pharmacy Assistant. When I had three jobs to choose from, I certainly didnt say "Oh and by the way, I have had Breast Cancer". I felt I would get a look in. One job was very detailed about asking questions about health, history of health, and what medications I were on. I did get that job, they interviewed for an hour, in the end I declined that one. Always felt bad for not admitting when asked up from. One company, we assumed I would get into, because of family contacts, who knew I had had cancer, were not interested in meeting me. The two I walked into and handed over my Resume and presented myself, literally turned it into a tug of war, decision was hard - until I was assured by a past employer of the best job to take. So I am going to keep my BC experience very secret now I am here in Sydney. I dont want it to spoil any opportunities and keep my fingers crossed. We certainly need the income. Cheers Donna, what are your thoughts on keeping quiet about our health issues?
