Hey girls
I just want to let you know the outcome from today......
I had my ultrasound. I asked hubby to come in with me. I asked him to ask questions if he felt it necessary and he did which was so wonderful. He had not been able to be a part of my first journey much due to working away so while he is with me I want to include him in anything and everything and he is happy to support me in any way he feels I need him. He is a very special person who like me is tired from lack of sleep and too much worrying. On top of that he has been made redundant due to the mining sector he was employed with not winning any new jobs and therefore no work for him. BUT he is a hard worker, highly respected and will get work very soon that I am hoping for.
Anyway the hospital and staff were lovely. The radiographer was very compassionate, very thorough and left nothing to chance. We spent a long time with her before she went out and chatted with the radiologist who then came in and went through the same process she had already been through. He also confirmed (in his broken english and us listening very hard - bless him) for us that there was orange peel like skin, redness and sinuey presence BUT they could not see anything untoward in that area on ultrasound so I am not to worry about that area at this stage but continue to be diligent.
They were both more concerned with the surgery area where I have a haematoma (spelling???) which I have had since day one and have had issues with but been told nothing to be concerned about so I haven't. They were unable to get a total clearance at time of surgery due to chest wall being in the way (how dare it!!! lol)
Therefore at the end of the day I walked away being told there is nothing untoward showing up on ultrasound. Continue to be diligent and continue to follow up with GP and chemo oncologist of which I have appts on 20th and 22nd of February at this stage.
I think I am relieved. I will run with the good news and get on with my life for the time being.
If anyone out there can tell me to the contrary I would love to hear from you.
Thank you girls so much for just being there for me as it has been a very trying time for me and my hubby.
Lots of love to you all, Mich xoxo
