- JenvMemberI also like a quote that, Kelly Rowland, one of the coaches on
'The Voice'
"Life is such a cruel and beautiful thing". - CosetteMemberOpposing ideas can both be true. It's true that nobody knows what you're going through and, as @Jenv said, nobody is going through it with you. And it is also true that there's a different effect on people who go through breast cancer alone versus those that have a network of supportive family and friends. And it's also true that spouses and children and other loved ones can be massively affected by a breast cancer diagnosis. And it's also true that there are insensitive shmucks out there who will say all the wrong things :s
- adeanMemberWell l love it a great quote l could gladly have screamed at people when going through treatment but would probably have added a few rude words lol
- melclarityMemberOh @iserbrown it was a joke!!! LOL truly
That quote has been said a thousand times, its quite common just said in a different way, its not meant to be offensive or unchristian at all. Its purely about understanding or maybe other peoples lack of,you see? ...whether an illness or any situation. The key thing is that its talking of lack of understanding right across the board...not one thing in particular. Hugs Christine!!! xxxooo Melinda - iserbrownMemberDear oh dear! I will sign out now.
- primekMember@iserbrown. I wasn't. Just clarifying for others that may read this thread.
- SoldierCrabMemberprimek said:@iserbrown No I think you have a valid point and nobody would be offended by your comment. I think the Tshirt idea being discussed is probably a joke. The reality of the quote though isn't meant as "woe is me". What the quote actually means is "don't judge me for what you may not understand"
.And that my friend is being real. Everybody's life experience, whether it be bc, loss of a loved one, loss of a job or even chronic disease, is unique to them. And we all react, cope differently.
It is like my son's when they were younger I would say "I sometimes wished their heads were on backwards as people didn't see their disability as it wasn't physical " didn't really mean I wanted their heads on backwards....
I am definately NOT offended by your comments.... PrimeK you sure you not an trained psychologist you say things so well on here ..... hugs to all
