Get Connected Day!
This is the Get Connected post, which is a place where you can introduce yourself if you'd like to widen your connections.
What to do...
Comment to this post (use the comment form at the bottom of the page) with a short note about yourself and who you're looking to connect to. Easy!
If you see someone with experience similar to yours, who you'd like to connect to, then just click their username (in their post) and you will end up on their profile page. Then all you need to do is look on the left side of the page under their picture and you'll see an "add contact" link and follow the prompts.
Why connect to others?
One of the good things about connecting to others, is that all of their blog posts will show up on your homepage in a reading list. So if you haven't visited the site in a few days, you'll still see what everyone is up to!
Important note
Remember to check your own privacy settings on your "edit" page. There's no need to reveal anything personal or private, but if you want others to connect to you, you should make some of your My Profile settings "public" so others can find out a bit about you (eg. 'my story', 'about' me' and 'breast cancer experience').
If you're not sure what to do, you might like to read this post on how to change your privacy settings.
Have fun!
Di

Hi Celeste this is my third try at replying. It seems the website gets a little unhappy about pressing backspace too many times too fast lol. Either that or my skills on the keyboard have gone completely awol!. Certainly my brain is not functioning as it once did! What age is your daughter? Mine is going on 26 and is my 'positive' ambassador. The weather does have a huge impact on my levels of 'happiness'. I suspect too that this particular cocktail is impacting my mood quite strongly, plus the chest cold just added to the woes lol!.
Did manage to achieve some things around the house yesterday which felt good. even did a small square of paving lol. Didn't know I had the energy til I started. I just start something and go slowly, everything is 'one step at a time' these days.
Think I will post this before it all disappears again. Thank you for contacting me

Hi Mel,
I'm Carolyn. I also have secondaries in my liver, that were found before the primary in my breast. That was August last year & I have had two rounds of chemo & I'm now taking Letrozole. I should add that I'm now 39 & have 3 girls (twins 11 yrs & 1 - 12yrs) & a husband. My specialist is now keeping tabs on my cancer with me having a blood test every 6 weeks (was monthly) & looking at my cancer marker, liver function. So far the marker has kept down to 8. I have a video conference, for my latest results, this Thursday. So here's hoping it's still staying down.
Take Care,
Carolyn.

My mum (who hates house work) always told me - home should be clean enough to be healthy but dirty enough to be happy. I say good advice and take the weekend off. Find a nice warm sunny spot, put your feet up, grab a good book and a hot lemon and honey drink and that nasty flu will be gone in no time. It takes a while to get your strength back, but it does return. until then treat yourself after what you have been through you deserve it. :)

Hi Lynne, I was diagnosed in late 2008 and had chemo & radio throughout 2009. Like you I also live alone (well I live with my daughter, but dont have a partner) and it's difficult when you don't have somebody 'on hand' to do all those odd jobs that need done! To be honest, while I was recouperating I decided to just let the housework go...LOL!...I've never been big on it anyway! I did the bare essentials and that was it! As far as hanging out washing and vacuuming goes, I had my family help me. I also have a large front and back garden and these were let go for quite a while. Your energy will return in time and the warm weather is just around the corner, so hopefully that thought will give you a huge lift!
Bye for now, Celeste

Hi again Lynne, glad I made you smile!!!
You say looking at your weather that it is going to be 18-19 ...... where are you? You never know you maybe close to one of our team ... you could be so lucky!!!
I'm a bit like you, I've never had an affinity with housework - it's a necessary evil!!! In fact my ex used to ask me why I never washed the windows ... I always told him if windows were meant to be washed God wouldn't have shown someone how to make curtains!!! Just another example of my strange sense of humour.
Cheers .... Shirl xx
