Before ,During ,Now,...After

I see the many lines in the sand throughout my adult life and some of my childhood, like Karenhappyquilter shares some them. I see passing over the (lines in the sand) in my life that each one has  bought a new type of normal to my life. whether the line was drawn ahead of time or we look back along the beach and see the turning points. It brings great sense of achievement that I can do this and cross the line that has been drawn for me like all the other challenges and changes in my life to date. 

I agree, it's a turning point like having children or having a parent, husband or child die.  

Even though our lives can be divided into what we lived before bc and how different it now is after bc, there are those gifts in life that transcend that dividing line - love, laughter and the joy of just being alive. When we've been through the dark times, some things just shine all the brighter.

It's 4 years since my diagnosis, my husband forgets and gets shitty if I can't do things, I have a rare blood cancer now. Life for me will never be the same but you have to embrace it ,he gets shocked when I tell him of, he said cancer changed you well yes it has!

I think most of us have lives in parts. I was 36 when I had my daughter, and there was certainly a difference between my pre motherhood life and post motherhood. Of course I chose that part and loved it, so the line is probably sharper about a change you haven't chosen (like cancer or losing a partner). Retirement may be another part but I am still avoiding that line!

Yes...you can see the line in the sand from date of diagnosis. I look forward to stepping over the next line of after treatment completion.
