Well I've had a dream run for the last four years and have passed the last three mammograms until now. On Friday I was asked to come back for a biopsy as microcalcifications have reappeared near the original lumpectomy. I'm trying not to worry, but I can feel the anxiety returning. I'm hoping it is just damage from the radiation. The biopsy and pathology results can't come soon enough.

Thanks everyone - all is OK thank goodness! Sorry I haven't replied earlier, but I didn't want to think about breast cancer again too soon. I waited a week for the outcome of the biopsy and although I tried not to worry I could feel the tension building until I got the all clear from the breast surgeon. I did a lot of internet googling and played a lot of scenarios through my mind about what I would do this time around. I felt more pragmatic this time and almost had the mastectomy booked in!!

Hi Anne,sorry to hear you are playing the waiting game again. I know just what you are going through. The same thing happened to me. Had a dream run for 7 yrs and then calcification on my mammogram. Unfortunately mine turned out to be the same cancer again. It hadn't spread so was classed as EBC. I had to have a mastectomy. That was 5yrs ago and I'm fine now. I hope it turns out to be nothing but if it is bc again,you can do it. Keep in touch- sending hugs.Tonya x
