WINNER WINNER CHICKEN DINNER!!

Bone scan ....CLEAR   Chest Pelvis Abdo CT Scan..... CLEAR!!!!!!    WOOOOHOOOOOO (well aside from the crappy booby and the adjacent lymph glands)   

Cue breathing again and hubby and I grinning at each other... then a big hug from my boss/gp

So appointment with surgeon tomorrow to confirm double mastectomy Thursday. In the meantime we rocked up to centrelink. Hubby is a self emplyed builder (no work here at the moment) and I cant work in a gp's practice, and the GFC took care of all incidental trauma insurance covers and our savings..... Luckily we found a lovely lady who helped us with a lot of stuff... then handed over a lot of forms. sigh... guess what I'll be doing tonight and tomorrow. I want to put as much in place as I can before surgery.

    So happy for you Donna, that is great news. I agree with Michelle when she said the mastectomy was pain free, a lot different to what I expected, just be careful you don't go reaching for the handle above your bed like I did, I kept popping the vaccume on the drain bottle, I think they changed it about 4 times in the 24 hours I was in, but I was so free of pain it just seemed natural to use my right hand. 

    I knew better with the axilla clearance & was well behaved so only used the bottles I was meant to.

    I have an appointment earlier in the morning with the surgeon for 3 month check up. I hope its just a hiya, looks good, seeya affair.

    My hubby is looking for work as well after GFC ate our retirement investments. Can't go to unemployment office though in case their checks alert the bank to have a closer look at our debt. Just being really quiet atm and don't rock the boat. Shhhhhh

    So happy for you, Donna!  That is wonderful news!  All the very best for Thursday - I still remember waking up afterwards thinking "The cancer's gone!"  The surgery was surprisingly pain-free, just a few days discomfort and pain relief whenever it was needed.  Good luck with all the paperwork - buy a big ring binder!  xx  Michelle
