Wig

Hii All

Can anyone recommend a good place to buy wigs from in Melbourne?

  • I got mine from celebrity wigs in swanston street in the city. They are amazing. You just tell them what you are thinking and they sit you down and bring you styles that they think suit you. They make it really easy otherwise it could get really confusing.

i went in wanting a human hair wig because I thought it would look for natural. But they showed me their good quality artificial hair ones and advised against human for maintenance purposes. We made a day of it and a group of girls came and we went to lunch before.

i get lots of compliments and when people find out they are shocked it's a wig.

i also got $250 back from my health fund for it.

While I hated the idea of wearing a wig, I have enjoyed the fast dressing in the morning and it always looks like I've spent ages doing it.

All the best with it, there are some great choices out there for you.

    merry Christmas

  • Hi Loz,

I went to Ringwood East too! They were fabulous.

I would also highly recommend the look good, feel better sessions. I rarely wear make up or bother with skin care normally but was delighted to be shown how to do eyebrows in particular. Good luck. Karen xox

Hi, I also got my wig from Head Compliments in Ringwood East. They are very kind and respectful with customers. I live 5 hours drive away from Melbourne, and they posted me some products along the way. They also sell eyebrow kits, and that was great, as I lost my eyebrows and eyelashes. I also googled how to do makeup during hair loss, and there is a YouTube clip on how to do your eyes and eyebrows.

Sending you a big cuddle, Trace ????????

  • Hi not sure where you are, I'm from the west and used a lady in Footscray. I think it was called Lydias, she is a hairdresser and she cut my wig, if you need her number I will look it up for you, if you live out this way.

  • Hi there

I got mine at Head Complements in Ringwood. They were excellent - easy to look after, light. Although if you get a synthetic one, as I did, which nearly started a trend among my not-bald friends as it looked so good, believe the staff when they say don't open a hot oven with it on!! It can frizzle the front!

    Good luck

  • Hi Loz - not sure what area you are from.  Have you attended the Look Good Feel Better Workshops?   www.lgfb.org.au

It is a worthwhile thing to do and they talk about wigs and scarves et cetera
