Why am I teary

Ok so I have noticed in the last couple of days that I am extra teary... Even reading posts on line finds me blubbering- watched a great video on Facebook yesterday of a flash mob dancing an singing - yep tears - stupid things make me tear up!!!! What the heck is happening!!! Now the only thing that has changed recently is I have been on tamoxifen now for just over a week??? Surely not getting this sort of change so quickly???? Otherwise I am feeling fine!!! Cheers Chris

  • Hi, Havent posted info before - had a cancerous lump removed late July, 2nd Op in August - then 5 weeks Radiotherapy - now complete and at Drs today and was provided with Tamoxifen script.

For the first time I feel really down and teary and havent yet taken any meds!

Feel like been on roller coaster that has now slowed down and reality is setting in - was diagnosed while working, since have resigned and now feeling quite isolated and lost.   Probably need to get a life!

Seems others experience similar feelings so glad I am not alone in this journey.  Havent really had chance to share my journey with friends.  Do support groups help?  Is there one in Elizabeth SA?

  • It's the same for me!!12 months almost now,on Tamoxifen, and I still get teary. My husband and daughter say ' oh no here she goes again!!' It's a bit of a standard joke in our house now,and I think I have learnt to accept it for what it is.Its hard to know exactly what is Tamoxifen related and what is just left over from treatment.I tend to think its a combination of both lots of times.I think you will find it will settle, just give it time, but it will probably never go away. Its just one of the many things that we have to learn to live with. But hey,we're alive!!!! • It's probably good ol Tamoxifen messing with your hormones. It affected me like that when I started. I was either crying or cranky! Give it a few months but seek help if you are still weepy. Tonya xx
