Where to get headwear?

@wren71 check with your treatment Hospital or Breast nurse as I am being fitted for a free wig or head scarves/ turban through them. Our Breast care nurses had a donation from a very generous gentleman who gave a whole range of free brand new wigs for the benefit of women going through bc. You might not have the option or a huge range to choose from but if it's free and you can get one through them it might help you. Check with the McGrath foundation they will be able to give you some info also.

You can buy paper 'straw'
hats - look just like the real thing, but no prickle. 

Arrrrr will remember the cap under the hat trick.

My kids have been fantastic, too (and really, who notices you once you're over 30?).  While I wore a wig to fly under the radar, I much preferred beanies or scarves - way too cold to go bareheaded.  And now it's getting warmer, you don't want to get sunburnt.  I probably already mentioned it but there's some brilliant videos on YouTube for tying scarves.  I found those caps that I sent excellent for going out on the water (I tried to go kayaking and paddleboarding a few times) as they're not going to fall off, and also great for wearing under straw hats for a bit of extra protection and to stop the prickliness of the straw.

Brilliant @Sister I found it in the top 3 lines that appear across the top on my phone. Thanks for the heads up, was driving me nuts as I knew I’d found it once before. 

I think I still have all my hair. Hard to tell as. Had a friend clip it to a Num 3 and then a couple of days ago  Num 1. This has given me a good idea of what I’ll look like bald as my hair is quite fair and given me time to get used to it. I’ve LOVED picking out scarves, caps and earrings. I owned two pairs of earrings before this and now, thanks to friends, have about 20 pairs. I’ve stopped using mascara in the hope it makes my eyelashes last longer.

i get ready quickly now but feel like I stand out when I’m public which is something I’m not used to. Feel like I’m always ‘on’. But my 12 and 13 year olds have basically told me to ‘get over myself’ and ‘no one is looking at you’ as ‘no one cares if you have or don’t have hair Mum- it’s 2018!!!!). Love them to bits!
