- LesaMemberHi. I took at night just before bed because thats when I could remember best. No side effects at all.
- iserbrownMemberI said earlier I settled into early afternoon, that is because I have one I must take in the morning half hour before food. I tried the evening time slot however I was unsettled so I figured on early afternoon - totally separate from my other medication. As you can see by responses there is no right or wrong time to take it however it is about what you are comfortable with and when you know you will remember to take it. Like @Brenda5 said it suits her with breakfast as her chemo brain can't always be trusted.
Take care and once you settle into routine it will become second nature and the side effects, if any, will have settled and hopefully dissipated.
Take care - Brenda5MemberI was told to take it in the morning with my breakfast which turned out to be good advice. I have lingering chemo brain with sabotaged short term memory so I wouldn't remember if I took the pill or not without having that satisfied full feeling that I had my breakfast. My pills live right next to the cereal box.
- poodlejulesMemberGreat question!
I've only been taking it for a month and started out taking it at night but switched to morning with breakfast after 3 nights of not being able to fall asleep :(
Good luck! - I take Arimidex after breakfast together with a pile of various vitamins. Not sure if it makes any difference but I have never taken it on an empty stomach. 12 months on and no real side effects so I'm not game to change anything just in case!
:) - MiraMemberI take mine at night, no side effects at all :)
- HarleeMemberMy oncologist suggested that if I was nauseous I could try taking it in the evening but I never had any nausea - only hot flushes and it didn't make any difference when I took it.
I'm now on Arimidex and again it makes no difference what time of day I take it so I take it in the morning with my breakfast because then if I forget I have all day to try and remember... - RobynwMemberI have been taking it for over 4 years now.No side effects for me,and even though in the beginning I thought I did have some side effects,I actually feel now that I was imagining it!!!I had hot flushes, but I think that I would have had them anyway. My oncologist said to give it a good 3 months to settle down,if there were symptoms, and that was what I did.I take it in the morning, but I started off by taking it at night. It makes no difference!!!Just like taking a panadol!! Don't worry:) Cheers Robynxox
- ZoffielMemberWhen ever you can remember to take it :) I had few side effects from that drug that I could genuinely pin point.
For me it was not like an analgesic which has a 'peak' period. I just took it and felt no different after 6 hours than I did after 12. Marg - primekMemberI have my AI letrozole with tea. I don't think it matters as long as we take it and around same time most days.
