Waiting aspiration

Hi there.

A couple of weeks ago I lifted my arm and noticed a dimple in the left breast. I knew it wasn't good and felt a decent size lump immediately. I panicked as anyone would and rushed for a mammogram and ultrasound which suggest a cyst on ultrasound and mass on mammogram. I'm having it fully aspirated next week and still very concerned it could be bad news. I also have quite bad swelling around the same side collarbone. I am sorry that this is nothing compared to what many are going through but just needed to let out my fears. Bless you all.

  • Thank you so much and I'll try that. I will keep you posted with the outcome and keep everything crossed. My gut feeling isn't good and the lump being of a decent size and obvious just looking has had no pain or tenderness. I'll keep self-examination going and any further suspicion will return immediately. I see the GP April 5the about the swelling. April 7th the lump gets aspirated.

  • The swelling around your collar bone could be lymph nodes holding lymph from whatever the trouble is in the breast. You can drain them yourself. They are the dimple either side of your neck just above the collar bone. Gently stroke that area about 15 times each side to help the lymph system to move it on.

Here's hoping you have nothing more than a fatty cyst in the breast but it does pay to always keep an eye on things as it could turn in the future and vigilance is the best way of catching nasties early.

  • Thank you so very much and you're so right. I was doing self examination but lying down and this was not noticeable. I now know that I made a mistake and warned friends on my Facebook not to only check in one position but in all different ones.

  • In this world where so many women die of breast cancer because they did not check a perceived abnormality although they had access to treatment, anyone would think you unwise NOT to take action as soon as you suspected something was wrong!

i hope that all turns out well for you.  This is a site where we can all let out our fears.
