Hi, I'm a triple negative BC. Diagnosed late September '13, single RH mastectomy on 18th October, no nodes involved. Large 5.6cm tumour grade 3. I haven't seen the oncologist yet because he is booked out so having to wait till 20th Nov.

Oh, look at all of you lovely people :) I'm a little humbled by what you're all going through or have been through.
Linda and Sheree yes of course we can keep in touch and everyone else as well. Linda I'm further north than you at Arundel. Having my chemo at Pacific Private in Southport (this is the plan at the moment, haven't started yet).
Serenity I had that with the general anaesthetic for my mastectomy. There was about a week when I would think, now what is that word? lol I really don't like not being in control of my brain. That frightens the heck out of me because it's a lot of who I am, a wordsmith.
Thank heavens that I'm not working more than a day a week until March. I will hopefully be able to pull off my studies and assignments in the 2 good weeks and just write the 1 bad week off and sleep for it. Who knows, I can only go at it with the right attitude and see what happens.
I'll be leaning on all of you and propping up the ones who need it as well. I've been a student mentor for some years and I get as much back from them as I put in. So expect me to be putting in here as well.

Gosh I hope my brain doesn't decide to have a meltdown just because of chemo, I can't afford to drop out for a semester. I'll just have to set myself on study auto pilot and hang on. Thankfully I won't have to do a lot more than that.
I wonder if anyone else has studied their way through chemo. My degree convenor said she has a friend who managed to keep going with hers. I'll have to put my bloody mindedness to work and do the same.

I too was diagnosed with TNBC. I have just reached the 12 month mark post the end of treatment. I was a mature student when diagnosed. Had to drop out for a semester as chemo brain overwhelmed me but my University was very good about it. I have since completed that semester. I am in Brisbane. Treated through HOCA at the Mater Private. Currently enjoying dragon boating as a way to get active again. Will be at Currumbin Creek on 24th for a festival if you want to come down for a laugh.
