Updated scan results
Well ladies, I am still holding my own, and giving cancer a good run for its money! Results of latest scans are in...latest bone scan is stable - no new lesions, yay!
My CT scan of neck, chest, abdomen and pelvis was done by private practice this time due to a backlog in the RAH (public hospital) where I am treated.
A 3mm lung nodule and another very tiny lung nodule were found, however I am told they may simply be 'inflammatory or post-inflammatory in nature'. My Oncologist says this is nothing to worry about and it is not necessarily cancer. She said inflammatory lung nodules can occur due to infection or even scar tissue due to ...healing, so I hope this is the case.
I would rather have seen an all clear scan, but my Oncologist isn't concerned at all about these tiny nodules. As my latest CT scan was done privately and all of my past CT scans have been done at the RAH, it wasn't possible for the private clinic to do comparisons between scans. A comparison will therefore be done by my treatment/medical team at the RAH on 20th Jan between this recent CT scan and the previous one (done by RAH - which was all clear). It will be interesting to hear the RAH's official take on this latest scan. My Oncologist doesn't think there is anything to worry about however (which is very reassuring, as she is someone who quite readily presents the worst case scenario whenever she can!).
So all in all, I am considered stable for now...what a relief! I am continuing with treatment and will be monitored closely as usual
I can leave "scanxiety" behind for a little while now...Phew!
So I live to play another day...to wake in the mornings and see my daughter's face, to kiss my kitties and annoy the hell out of everyone else...BRING IT...Yeah!
