Update

So had my bilateral on the 3rd June n wow what a ride not such a good one either, day one seen me crash big time, then day 5 back into surgery to drain haematoma from left side which was 300 ml, so eventually home day 9, with the worst constipation in history, was traveling along fine until last week where my temp spiked at home at 38.6 so off to hospital which ended up another 3 day stay as I had a bad infection. So have now decided that I will have a porta catch inserted as I don't think I can handle all these needles that are forth coming, just feel as though I was doing great now I feel as though 10 steps back, I have education tomorrow n start chemo Tuesday but then maybe not ? Depends on this infection I guess we don't have a big span of time left as chemo needs to be done within the first 2 mths after intial op which was in May this morning my right side looks like it is containing fluid so will have to watch that too man I new it was going to be hard this sucks I just get to a point where wow wtf is next how much more can your body put up with. Thanks for reading it was good to vent

  • Wow,you have had a tough time!It really is a roller coaster isn't it? Hopefully things are looking up now,but it's always a bit of the unknown when you are dealing with an infection.Try not to stress too much about chemo. These days, there are lots of medicines to manage the side effects, and chemo is a lot different to what it was many years ago.I remember going to chemo education and thinking " oh my gosh!" And being so scared, but once it started, for me anyway,it was not what I actually expected.Try to keep on taking it one day at a time:)Stay on here and use us for advice and support! All the best for the next few days.xoxRobyn
