This thread is giving me much to think about. I do have low vitamin D levels which is common re my arthritis issues. I didn’t know that there was a link re breast cancer as well. I don’t have a family history of breast cancer but I do have low levels of Vit D.
In regards to thyroids, I really don’t think anyone fully understands thyroids yet. I had a multinodular thyroid which had to be totally removed due to the size. However, the thyroid functions were apparently normal....... The hospital lost my file for a few years, once followed up & further tests, I had high blood calcium levels caused by a tumour on one of my parathyroid glands. I ended up having a total thyroidectomy & two of the 4 parathyroid glands removed.
after the surgery, I felt fantastic ....... I realised that I’d been feeling crap & seriously unwell for at least ten yrs.
Hence, why I don’t believe my thyroid could have been functioning ‘normal’ when it was multinodular & prior to the tumour on the parathyroid test.
I do feel that there is more to our thyroids than has been discovered/fully understood at this time. Just my personal view from my own experiences
