Unilateral mastectomy and now results

I had my unilateral mastectomy last Tuesday and I am recovering well. I have my second postop check up tomorrow. The drain is running along well. I have two more appointments with this and I am done.

I will receive the pathology results on Friday and will discuss treatment with oncology team next week.

So far I am coping quite well. I haven't had any down times yet, not sure when they will come. I am being pretty positive and strong. I have lived with an autoimmune disease since January and it has proved worse than this op.

I am not sure what to expect and what to think regarding different treatment options eg is there an alternative choice to chemo etc?

    Glad to hear that you are recovering well from you surgery and are remaining strong while waiting for your pathology results.  The waiting is the worst part but once you have your treatment plan you will feel better. 

    I agree with Deanne and Robyn in looking after yourself from here on hend:  Rest, walk and eat well for good recovery from all treatments.

    All the best on Friday when you see your oncologist for your result.
