Under Construction - Day 2

UNDER CONSTRUCTION!
Day 2 -

Well I can say that I don't know if I'll ever get used to the feeling of these expanders!

I was OK yesterday in the morning, but by mid afternoon....YEEEOUCH! I managed to finish the project I was painting throughout the morning, then I took panadol and put myself to bed at 1:30pm

I really wanted to take a stronger pain killer, but I am so terrified of them now after all the rotten effects I had during chemo...there was a bit of a mix up with the script i got the other day.....my fault, I forgot to mention I was on slow release type......I plan to go to the GP and get the correct script for what I am taking now next week.....

Amazing how being in a different position can make a difference! I still had the digging in pain though, on the left side, into my ribs. I have said it before, it feels like the underwire of my bra has been sewn into my chest....I just want to rip it out! Any way after about 5 minutes I fell asleep...

I woke up 3 hours later! I still can't believe how much sleep I'm getting... even after a long nap I can still go to bed at 9 pm and sleep until 9 am! I suppose my body needs it....

The saline seems to have settled somewhat...I can now see the shape forming...the shape is irregular though, kinda like a brown paper bag has been blown up and shoved in there......but this was explained to me before the procedure....

I did consider not having a reconstruction, and maybe if a different approach was chosen, I may not have...and I also do wonder if I would be feeling much better now if I didn't...it's getting old, this feeling unwell bullshit!.....but seeing the start of my new boobs has made me glad I chose to rebuild.

No, they don't look nice, they're quite scary actually....all buckled and stitched and numb....some parts completely numb.... but I don't expect them to look 'normal' and real anyways....I don't even expect them to look normal once the implants have been transferred.....but I will have something to fill my clothes out with...and I will feel 'finished' ....

Only another 5 weeks or so and they'll be fully expanded....then I can start the next phase of treatment, radiotherapy......I expect the next weeks will go fast but slow at the same time...just like the rest of this crazy ride....but I plan to fill the time with as much "normal' as possible.....to start creating new memories, there's a new book waiting to be written....

Have a great weekend all!
