'Twas the night before...............................LAST CHEMO!!!!!!
Day 20 - after round five.
Had a pretty easy weekend topped of by a great dinner with friends at one of my favourite places to eat...Old Liberty Diner! So good to be able to eat properly! and it was fantastic to be able to just talk everyday stuff and laugh out loud!
Of course after that and a full belly I had a great nights sleep.
This morning was my usual pre chemo visit to the resident vampires at the cancer clinic....Still don't believe that I'm visiting the cancer clinic :/.......waited for my number to be called and wouldn't you know it, the same lady as last time...
Uh oh I thought...prepare for missed attempt complete with wriggling! Well, not this time, she got it first go and I didn't even feel it! Phew!
She was just as excited as I was! and after the usual checks she half hugged me and wished me luck with the rest of my treatments....I said thanks and that I was happy I wouldn't be seeing her again...in a good way!.....for now anyways :)
After my donation to the vampire laboratory I went to the GP, then to work...It is a bummer I have one more dose, Other than my hair STILL falling out, my numbish toes, sore nails and peeling skin...'tis kinda nice to be feeling, lets say 85%!!! I still get tired really quick and my brain starts to slow down after a few hours of concentration.
I am quite excited to say that tomorrow is my LAST CHEMO!
It's been quite a ride so far...

30/12/15 - Core Biopsies
4/1/16 - Full Diagnosis and treatment plan
13/1/16 - Lumpectomy of tumour and axillary clearance of positive nodes
25/1/16 - Bone scans and CT scans......ALL CLEAR!
5/2/16 - re excision for unclear margins
15/2/16 - clear margins declared!
16/2/16 - CHEMO started! ..6 rounds to be administered every 21 days for 6 rounds...
In between all of these were GP appointments, Blood tests, Oncology appointments, V.I.P visits to the hospital, Pharmacy education and physio!
I went by in a blur but stood still all at the same time. I still am in awe of it all.....as of tomorrow I'll be done with chemotherapy!
I have said it to many and i'll say it again...i wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy! ... i really mean it!
The love and support, the messages and wishes from loved ones, friends, nursing staff, fellow Pink Troopers and even strangers has been overwhelming at times, but has helped me keep my head above water....and I will take strength from the same again as my experience continues......
While I still have more to go in my treatment plan....I am sooo glad this part is nearly over... One more infusion, one more week of feeling sick....I'll think about the rest after.......but for now....
YAY! ME ...TOMORROW IS MY LAST CHEMO!!!!
* I feel like crying!
