Hi just thought would pop in and agree with with above, I have metastatic breast cancer with mets in my liver and throughout my spine, I have a blood test every 19 days, so my oncologist can see whats going on, its a complete blood evaluation so he can see what my kidney, liver and everything else is doing as well as my tumour markers,I have 12 days on chemo then 9 days off and its at the end of my 9 days off that I have the blood test, its a personal decision of my oncologist to do this, it makes me feel quite safe and well looked after to know that as soon as anything is on the move my oncologist is on top of it, but as everyone is different and their oncologists all have a different viewpoint, and yes its usually those of us with metastaic disease who have their tumour markers monitored, I also see my oncologist every 6 weeks, so that we can also physically see how I am going as well,
